Deliver, innovate, protect us – but don't spend too much money
The management of information technology inside banks has matured nicely in the past decade. We have upgraded our technical infrastructures, created stronger processes and regulatory documentation and begun to better manage and demand more from our vendors. At the same time, IT continues to be a juggling act as banks work to balance priorities around new products and delivery channels, increasing regulatory mandates, and protecting the bank and customers from security breaches in fraud. In the middle of this, bank IT managers have been asked to do more with less – to renegotiate vendor contracts, control staffing and drive down the relative cost of information systems. To help manage this balancing act, IT managers have worked to develop stronger governance and project management processes. They have also begun the development of staffing targets and internal service level agreements to position the department more as a professional service organization.
Participants in The Cornerstone Report's Information Technology Community will receive a comprehensive IT spending comparison along five major categories (core systems, telecommunications, infrastructure, electronic delivery and strategic systems) as well as specific staffing benchmark comparisons. . We will also provide information concerning how IT groups are using new tools and best practices to achieve stronger efficiencies and improve internal customer service.
IT continues to be the lifeblood of the banking business, and demands are only increasing in this area. It will take the right mix of staff, vendor partners, governance and tools/processes to keep up with these-never-ending demands. We hope you will join with us in the creation of this industry-leading resource for efficiently scaling up your bank’s Information Technology function.
Below are select metrics that will be collected for the survey and used, upon completion of the study, to benchmark your institution against median, 25th percentile and 75th percentile study findings.
