In 2006, for the first time in its long history of publishing bank benchmarking studies, Cornerstone invited large credit unions (assets of $350 million or more) to participate in an extensive benchmarking survey. The data collected from this survey, augmented with benchmarks gathered through Cornerstone’s work with hundreds of financial institution clients, enabled us to publish a detailed, analytical study of the staffing, process and technology spending behaviors of credit unions within this target asset size. Our industry knowledge and field observations made it possible for us to complement the statistical analysis with actionable best practice recommendations aimed at helping credit unions become high performers.

It is Cornerstone's intent to conduct this credit union survey every other year to collect and publish the most up-to-date statistics relative to top of mind issues.

The Cornerstone Report: Benchmarks and Best Practices for Credit Unions 2006 provides more than 250 benchmarks and over 100 best practices from a survey of 60 credit unions with assets of $350 million and up. The report, aimed at helping credit unions achieve high performance and operational execution, identifies trends that will impact credit unions today and in the future.
