As practice leader of Cornerstone’s Benchmarking and Best Practices business line, Eric plays a key role in helping banks and credit unions become more efficient through recognizing how they are positioned versus their peers and providing best practice recommendations for staffing levels, spending, organizational structure and system use.

In his role, Eric has led a wide variety of engagements which has enabled him to amass significant benchmarking and best practices experience in branches, call centers, technology, accounting/finance, loan and deposit operations, commercial lending and marketing. Given this knowledge, Eric leads many of the firm's larger Benchmarking and Best Practices Assessments.

In addition to benchmarking, Eric has assisted numerous banks and credit unions in selecting the right technology for core, internet banking, document imaging, loan origination and ATM and Debit networks and processing and reviewed hundreds of technology contracts to make sure his clients negotiate the right terms and conditions at the right price. Eric is also a contributing author for The Cornerstone Report: Benchmarks and Best Practices for Mid-Size Banks and Credit Unions. He writes for GonzoBanker and CUES Technology Edge and has been published in Credit Union Management magazine and has been quoted in The American Banker.

Prior to joining Cornerstone, Eric spent four years as Financial Analyst and Assistant Treasurer at Sofia & Company, a private investment banking firm providing advisory services in mergers and acquisitions, capital formation, and investment and business strategy. While there, he modeled bank acquisitions and developed a high level of banking expertise through his comprehensive research experience.

Eric received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration – Finance from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
